Summer Vacation '08
Ah, Smithton. Home Of Something, I'm Sure.
Sadly, our trip down to Smithton corresponded with Andrya's grandmother being in the hospital for a broken
hip/back combination that I'm sure is quite uncomfortable. We picked up Niklas's grandma Meeker on our
way down and headed straight for the hospital. After five hours in the car, Niklas was in no shape for
visiting so we dropped Grandma Meeker off and took Niklas home to get some sleep. On the plus side,
the Penguins finally showed some life against the Red Wings and won game three.
The next day (Thursday, most likely), Niklas got up early to do some stomping about at his great-grandparents
farm.
Snacks are always a good time.

Later, we visited Andrya's Aunt Kim and Uncle Mark's house where Niklas did some more stomping about. Then we went to
the hospital so he could say "hi!" to his great-grandma, which he did. She certainly enjoyed seeing him. We ended
the day off by meeting Mark and Kim and their daughter Kendra at a bar. Niklas gave Kendra a high five marking the first
time he has high fived somebody who's not me or Andrya. Good times.
On Friday, we stopped off at the hospital again to say goodbye to Niklas's great-grandma before heading up to Bloomington.
