Stuff We Did Before Actually Leaving For Vacation

So, as I mentioned before, Niklas and I took a trip to Hog Bay Park a couple of days before we left for vacation. In addition to getting covered in dog poop, I also took some pictures.

Here's Niklas playing with my hockey stick. I know this has nothing to do with Hog Bay, but I swear these get on track here directly.

Not yet, though. Here's Niklas on the ferry. No, you don't take the Ferry to Hog Bay (or Illinois, for that matter).

Hog Bay? Awesome. Here's Niklas plotting lime kiln related mischief.

Can you have too many pictures of a lime kiln? No. No you can't.

This is fairly representative of the trails at Hog Bay. Not Pictured: The terrain of our ill-advised off trail adventures

Here's a lizard. I guess you could have figured that out without reading this, but I enjoy wasting people's time

This trail leads to the beach. I didn't take any pictures there as I was busy keeping Niklas from grabbing the jelly fish that were washed up on shore.

Anyway, as I mentioned before, we left for the States on the 24th. We had a painfully early flight which meant we had to wake up even more painfully early. We managed to get the car packed up (Niklas included) in a reasonable amount of time and headed off for the airport. When we got there, the check in line was easily long enough to justify our arriving at the airport two hours early. However, because the flight was mostly booked when we got our tickets, we ended up getting business class seats. This allowed us to use the business class check in which put us behind pretty much no one in line and thus gave Niklas lots of time to stomp about the terminal while we waited for our flight. Once on the plane, business class had the added benefit of having enough space between the seats to prevent Niklas from kicking the seat in front of him. To sum up, I love business class. Niklas was very good on the flight to New York. He ate his weight in Teddy Grahams and had a little nap.

Your vacation is boring so far. Do something entertaining.
